@uberhaxor69 I understand your fear. But if you start reading about drunk driving accidents, you might start getting afraid of being trapped in a mangled burning car. I used to be an all around phobic. Then I realized how scary every damn thing is, and I stopped being scared, beacuse everything started to blend together, and everything seemed equally scary. When I go to bed each night, I try not to think that the next "Tunguska" event could well happen right above me. Kind of freaky.

In 1986 (I was 10), when passengers could still smoke on airplanes, the moron flight attendants on TWA stuck me in between 2 chain smokers who were lighting up even before the plane disembarked. I thought I was going to vomit since the flight was from NYC to SFO. Luckily,I got a bloody nose (not sure why) before liftoff and started bleeding all over myself and the disgusted smoking passengers so they moved me to 1st class. Even back then they should've known not to stick kids in smoking! Sick.

Flight 800 didn't help matters, but it wasn't the sole reason for TWA being bought out of bankruptcy by AA. It also wasn't a merger - TWA simultaneously declared bankruptcy for the third and final time, and AA then acquired the assets in a packaged deal.

I remeber back in the 90's, when TWA still flew 747 on their JFK-LAX route. Around 7-730 ,when I would be riding my bike in a near by park, thoseTWA 747s FROM THE BIG APPLE, would be coming into LAX, most on runway 24. TLC song Creep, reminds me of those TWA 747s because I was watch BET sometime druing the day and the song was on my mind when that flight would come in. Thanks to my father having a friend who worked at TWA, I got to take a tour of a TWA 747, it was great! Thank You TED!

What a great airplane, the Tristar. TWA had a great fleet of these beauties, it was always nice seeing those L'10s at LAX along with the 747-131's, going to the East and Europe. Those were great days in the 70s, I do not know what is happening now, air travel is a total joke, people have no class or appreciation.

@am1966ath I graduated Breech Academy in MCI on 5/76 I was based in JFK as I was language qualified both in spanish and portuguese, I flew mainly JFK/MAD/JFK or JFK/LIS/BCN/LIS/JFK The first was B747-100 or 200 the second was L-1011 (my favorite after the B747SP)

@am1966ath No doubt that deregulation in 1978 brought new challenges to all carriers specially TW & PA but BI (Braniff) was one of the first to suffer and they were a solid carrier who always gave PA a run for their money on the Central & South America routes, they had a co-share Concorde route together with BA but competing in the USA domestic market prove to be the undoing of all! I always thought to maintain feeders for the International routes but never to try to compete domestic!

@TWTR4EVER TWA and PANAM were airlineses from another time. With deregulation 1978, flying in the US became greyhoundbus on vings. This development we now have in Europe as well. Big carriers like KLM or Lufthansa you can fly for 3-4jours from say Amsterdam to Istanbul or Frankfurt to Alexandria, in cramped B737 or 319 where before they had airbus300 or even DC8 with china,crockery,glass and warm meals they now serve sandwich.

Africa to Haiti to St Vincent to Trinidad) My hair is so so so thick and tough. when my hair was natural at a young age. i broke clips and hair clamps. i've been transitioning for 4 months and some days and i love it but these styles not working except canerows (cornrows) in the front of my head.

Funny, last sumer I spend time in the northeast and I wanted to drive around, I TOOK THE AUTO TRAIN, it was great, I drove some 4hrs from SOBE/FL to Sanford/FL, you get there by noon the car is put onboard, I got a compartment, and the next morning by 9AM you are in Lorton/VA 30 minutes from DC and I drove trough out NJ, NY, CT,MA,VT, RI,NH & back the same way, I left in early June came back after Labor Day! Had a blast!

I was hired on 752006 as a flight attendant and was based at MCI, STL, and JFK-1. I became a Flight Service Manager in 1980, and retired in 2003. I've had many happy years with TWA and Maury, I love watching the ol' commercials and shorts about TWA. I can't say I have one that I think is "the best" but ones I like are the KLM livery both the current one and the previous generation; also I like British Airways. I am not particularly fond of South African Airways' euro-white scheme, but their tail design is fantastic. I also find Singapore Airlines and Alitalia's livery very out-dated. It reminds me of 1960s or so liveries. Thanks for asking.

To Aviator442, we had poor CEO's, but we had a dedicated force, professionals and most of all, humanity, something most front line employees in other carriers lack! Deregulation? Don't make me laugh, Carpetbaggers like Carl Icahn and the profiteers that followed are to blame. Flight attendants strike? Guess what? At the time, they had no choice, cause in the environment Icahn created was hostile and we knew what to give and what not to give and at the end we got him out, Late, but out!

It is interesting to hear all the comments about TWA and how it could have survived and what could have happened if they hadn't been taken over by Icahn and later American. I feel somewhat sorry for all those that thought TWA could have survived, because they were doomed. First, their post deregulation management did not show any leadership or originality, and second the flight attendants' strike only accelerated the downward spiral. Maybe, a very good airline at one time. When was that?

Actually, to be accurate about it, a slide rule IS a computer. It's simply analog instead of digital. And without slide rules, these aircraft wouldn't have gotten designed either. So there's no penalty or disadvantage to using a computer, these guys used them too!

What most people reckon these days is that Walter Scott, when he was collecting Border ballads etc, 'borrowed' this one and put a darker Scottish twist on it. So the knight, who in the original version was guarded by his hawk, hound and lady fair, is now abandoned to the corbies while his lady runs off to her new man. Says a lot about our charming Scottish mentality :) Thanks for posting

It is a border ballad from the Scot-English border. Until the union the language of the northern English and Scots was the same, derived from old Northumbrian. Much like the Kielder Hunt is a Northumbrian song but might seem Scottish to many.

As with most folk songs the 'actual' original is lost to obscurity. Most of them have several regional variants. 'Twa Corbies' is a variant of 'The three Ravens'. They developed in the British Isles (although there are probably very similar songs on the continent, who influenced who?).

some pple use gel and rub it in with their palm in a circular motion. I used that method but did it with my regular moisturizer cause I don't like gel all over my whole head. I would suggest doing that and just being patient. My curls didn't pop until 5 months after my bc. Your hair needs a *tiny* bit of length for a curl to wrap around.

u know, I realize this vid is last yr, but I found that I have the same exp w/ the denman. I have mostly 4a/4b hair w/ 3c only at the crown. I found by accid that if I rake and palm really fast, even whip my hands against my hair gently & super fast the curls pop out on soaking wet hair covered in TIGI Bedhead Moisture Maniac, Wild Growth Hair Oil & I now use a water/glycerin spray before the sealant. My curls really pop & r smooth in comparison.
