This movie is one of my all time favorites; along with Citizen Kane, Inception, Jaws, Alien, etc. This is one of the only movies to make me cry and one of the most beautiful movies of all time. NOTE: Doesn't anyone else notice that Mr. Fredrickson looks an awful lot like the film critic Roger Ebert, well, 10 years ago.

I like these kind of movies more than films like Knight and Day, Inception, Avatar and any of those kind of movies because sometimes, they are overrated. Movies like this (Toy Stories, Up, Monster Inc ETC) are more interesting and has more adventures and lots of cute and funny scenes.

@brandon91616 In the sense that "Up" was a better film, absolutely! However, films like this, IMO, just get ruined by sequels. "Up" can stand on its own as one of the all time great works of animation, and one of the great films of its time. Let "Cars" have its sequel.

@Hikayuhuy well, I'm 17 years old, and I think this particular scene, and especially the music, are one of the best things I have ever seen and listen in any movie, It's just amazing how pixar resumed an entire life in less than 5 minutes, and I loved this movie, just like every other pixar production (except for cars, which was kind of boring imo)

@missenne indeed , but many other pixar movies such as wall-e , finding nemo , moster factory and ratatoullie did not hold such deep moral . this movie dedicated the first 20 min to introducing Carl and his story . younger and not understanding viewers would find it a very slow and boring introduction . other pixar's movie such as above went by really fast and decisive with their introduction . my sister is 23 , in college , and she did not find this movie brilliant at all . i do , however .

And when the kids (Who don't really understand.. and just enjoy the pictures) grow up, they would watch this again and finally understand. Thats what happened to me in Toy Story.. I have always watched it before when I was younger.. But now that I could understand.. I thought that it was amazing :)

@WooCla there's 2 part to the song.the beginning start very upbeat , it's almost as good as a feel-good music will ever get,and then it hit one point where it basically went to hell , in a good way XD. it became incredibly sad , sob-tastic kind of music that makes you wanna put a knife in your eyes just to make it go away . it's supposed to represent the ups and downs of life . there are time in life where it felt like endless suffering and times when heaven is undesired . life = total bitch =[.

@47drift up until 2008 , i would have agree madly with this comment . but what i felt with this movie particularly is that they went after a more mature audience . it's not just a simple adventure that turned out near deadly and ending somewhat happily . this movie while still have the same elements of the other pixar's movie , have a much deeper and sadder moral behind it . it's not easily understood like the others . my sister didnt get it =[ , but she liked all other works from pixar .
